Flagship.

Ok. I am almost there. I have barely nine months before (-to use ugly clichés-) turning over a new leaf, adorning the black gown and bearing adult responsibilities.

....

..

.

But as ridiculous as it may sound, I hate this profession- in theory, in practice and as (unfortunately) my only source of income right now. I can comfortably say that we belong to a species which only talks, talks and talks regardless of the component of listening. Plus, we also write in a very unusually difficult way adopting foreign words and long sentences. We also hate having things plain and simple- we like it long and complicated. And with these, we think we are gifted. Strange, isn’t it?

...

..

.

Hmm however for lack of options, I have to stick to it to make some money before I can start exploring. And while I am exploring, I would like to own an orchid farm, continue to learn dancing and spread the charm of Bharathanatyam around the world, build my own coffee shop, design clothes, possess the ideal weight with curves (!), travel to places and try cuisines, educate at least ten people, meet Ilaiyaraja, earn yoga and two other languages (of which Telugu will be one), grow long hair and have a family with two children. At the end, I would like to retire like anybody else.

P.S. “Flagship”- because all this would make me feel like commanding one. :)

I like that!

The other day, as a college tradition, the tams of NLS went out on a tam-dinner. While I insisted that it should be a good south-Indian restaurant and arranged for the dinner at Ponnusamy, one miscommunication led to another and eventually we landed up at Desmondes for a late dinner. There were around thirty of us of different sorts- full tams, half tams, quarter tams, tams from different parts of the country (and this time, different parts of the world too!), tams from chennai, non-tams from tamil nadu, etc. Tam dinners/lunches are a lot of fun. We get to know the juniors, treat them and try to welcome them aboard. I still remember my first tam-lunch at Sapattu Raman- we had lovely dosas and sambar, introduced myself in tamil (like: vanakkam, yen per krithika. nan chennai-lendhu varen. psbb-la padichen, etc) and now I can't believe four years have passed and this was my last tam dinner.

Desmondes had a great variety but we chose to order a few and share amongst us. Great food, hours of laughing together and racking our brains to divide the bill. And then we hit Corner House on Lavelle Road (did you know Corner House people, whichever branch, speak super tamil?). I had my favourite cake fudge while Vivek had litchis with ice cream, Shruti had something chocolate-y, Latcho was too full to have anything and Dv had choco mousse with ice cream. Shruti, our very own DISCO convenor, was being all responsible and sent off the juniors in the cabs first! And then we had a long long chat fully in tamil about nothing in particular while we waited for our cabs to come. This was different- nothing bitchy or intense but just a funny gathering of memories of four years! We didn't even realize the time until it was about eleven fifteen. And then we had to leave the place... but continued the laughter riot in the cab. At the end, Shruti's cheeks and my stomach were hurting so much. But who cares!! We had an awesome awesome time! Evlavu sirichom-nu oru alavu illa, edhukku sirichom-nu kooda nyabagam illa. Aana nariya sirichom, romba jillu-nu irundhudhu! :) :)

Ilaiyaraja-na Ilaiyaraja dhaan! ;)

Ilaiyaraja is a genius when it comes to making situation-specific songs and one of the classic examples is the song Sorgame Endralum from Oora Vittu Oor Vandhu. When it comes to lyrics, singing and the music, this is my all-time favourite. The genre is folk, set in Hamsanadham apparently, with Ilaiyaraja and Janaki rendering the song with brilliant expressions. I love Ilaiyaraja's version of Tamil folk and this song just stands out. The song, in the movie, appears when the lead couple leave their village and go to Singapore to accomplish their mission. The translation, however done, can do no justice to the spirit of the song but I still have tried:

Pallavi:

Sorgame endralum adhu nammooru pola varuma?
(Even if you take heaven, would it like our own city?)
Ada ennadu endralum adhu nam naatukeedaguma?
(And would any other country be so good as our own?)
Pala desam muzhudhum pesum mozhigal Tamizh-pol inithiduma...?
(There may be many languages but which one sounds as sweet as tamil?)

Charanam I:

Yerikarai katrum elelelo paatum inge edhum ketkavilaiye...
(I cant listen to the breeze on the banks of river and the sound of folk music here)
Padum kuyil sathham aadum mayil nithham paarka oru solai-illaye...
(Neither can I see cuckoos singing or peacocks dancing)
Vethalaiya madichhu maaman adhai kadichhu thuppa oru vazhi-illaiye...
(There is no way I can give my husband folded beetel leaves to eat here)
Odi vandhu kudhichhu mungi-mungi kulichhu aada oru odai-illaiye...
(And there is no lake here in which we can run, jump, play and bathe)
Ivvooru enna ooru, nammoodu romba melu,
(What kind of a place is this? Our city is so much better!)
Odum pala caar-u, veen adambaram paaru,
(There a hell lot of cars and unnecessary sophistication)
Oru dhaagam theerka yedhu moru...?
(But would I get buttermilk to quench my thirst?)

Sorgame endralum...

Charanam II:

Maadu rendu meikka meiyuradha paarka mandhaveli inga illaiye...
(There is not a farm here for the cows to graze or to see cows grazing)
Aadu-puli aatam pottu vilaiyada arasa-maram medai-illaiye...
(And there is no banyan tree under which we can play games)
Kaalai rendu pooti kattai vandi otti ganam paada vazhi-illaiye...
(There is no way I can sing songs while riding a bullock cart)
Thozigalai azhaichhu solli solli rasichhu aatam poda vazhi-illaiye...
(Neither is there a place I can take all my friends to sing, dance and chat)
Oru yendhirathhai pola ada inge ulla vaazhkai,
(Life here is like that of a machine)
Idha engai poi solla manam ishta padavilla,
(Where can I go coz I dont like to be here)
Nammoorai pola ver-ooru illai...!
(There is no better place than ours)

Sorgame endralum...

A damn cute video and great music- just the way Ilaiyaraja makes it work everytime. I repeat, Ilaiyaraja-na Ilaiyaraja dhaan! Someday I want to meet him and I will never forget that day in my life! :)

Kambakht Ishq- Battle of What?

I can now safely say that it is the worst movie I have ever seen or I could ever see. And for anybody who has watched Pammal K.Samandham, this movie is a shock. I refuse to believe it is a remake of PKS. K.Ishq is full of vulgarity, illogical scenes, terrible acting, cliched jokes, inconsistent screenplay and horribly repetitive music. In short, as harsh as it may sound, it is an expensive piece of shit that does not even qualify for a mindless watch. What the hell was that Nadiawala guy thinking? And how long does Akshay Kumar think he can pass this off? And Bebo, please stop! All said, I thought it was only fair to PKS if I blog out a comparison between the two movies for all those who might think the parent movie was just as bad.

PKS- starring Kamal Hassan (as Pammal Kalayana Samandham), Simran, Abbas and Sneha. One of my favourites and a complete family entertainer that had one of the best set of dialogues and scenes ever! A great blend of family sentiment, foot-tapping music by Deva, outstanding direction and dialogues by Mouli and absolutely no exaggeration. A simple story shot in Madras with Kamal as a stuntman in Tamil cinema and Simran as a doctor (not a super-model and doctor!) which had a storyline concrete enough to accommodate a lot of fun, romance and sentiment. But K.Ishq ruined it thoroughly- offensively (and repeatedly) demeaning stunt-men, stupid sense of humour (like making Akshay Kumar fart on Amrita Arora's face unnecessarily), too much of vulgarity in the pretext of romance and comedy and misplaced scenes to show AK's sentiments. What a disaster! I really wish you guys watch PKS with subtitles and see how Sabbir Khan has absolutely no brains whatsoever. Tell me how difficult is to remake a movie?! While I understand that you shouldn't expect a flow of logic in a rom-com, this movie just goes overboard in making a fool of us. Why would you take the entire thing to Hollywood and make Kareena a supermodel? Why would you get Stallone into a roadside fight with random bullies? Like how many times have you heard of Stallone straying around random streets helping innocent and helpless women! Why would you not, as in the original story, depict the hero as innocent instead of making AK (for the nth time) a casanova? Like Akshay Kumar has to hit on chicks and use them in every single movie! Why would they rip apart AK's body to search for drugs in such an offensive way? ( BTW in the original, Simran tries to take revenge on Kamal by making a complaint against him for animal-rights violation. That scene is HILARIOUS.) Why would AK and Kareena refer to each other as dog and bitch throughout the movie even when there was no context to begin with? Why have they tried the "gay-jokes" (like I haven't seen enough of them in Karan Johar's movies already) again and again? Why on earth would AK make Aftab drink Viagra in the wedding reception when the intention was to make Amrita have sex with him or not vice versa (And I thought Viagra helped in increasing one's virility!)? Also why is being virgin funny? Why Why Why? All these scenes just disgust you on one level and on another level make you wonder if you could get a refund. So I tried walking out of the theater thrice but my friends wouldn't let me to! Please DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE!!

Never too young for anything! ;)

These twenty days have been so full of life and I am loving it! With no internship and no exams, I have been painting the town red! Met up with a lot of friends, heard my share of good news (Varun is coming down in September, Vids is going to New York and Gow is going to the Oxford), hogged on great home food and got myself into a project- revamping my house! We have the Asian Paint guys, the carpenter, the computer service guy and the A/C mechanic practically living here and there is a hell lot of noise and dust around. My room looks lovely (the sea-green paint is beautiful) and I am happy. Sindu has been my constant partner in going out in the sun and going out in the dark and sitting at home to idle away time. After one French movie, two Hindi movies, random shopping at Pondy Bazaar, morning walks with amma, countless dosas, unrestricted access to internet (especially youtube), book shopping at Crossword, lot of traffic-rules skipping with Sindu on the bike and intense sun-bathing, I am totally rejuvenated to go to college for my final year. I still have no freaking clue about what I want to do with my life. But I love the way my life is- a lot of work, a lot of chilling and a hell lot of suspense. This is crazy but I am thoroughly living it. :)

25 + 1 Random Things:

Here is the list:

1. There is only one person in this whole wide world I look up to and it is my mother. She is everything I respect and want to be.
2. Black, purple, ruby red and peacock blue are my favourite colours. I wish to paint my home in all of them.
3. With my first salary (whenever that happens!), I would like to gift my mom a treadmill (she has always wanted one but considers it an unnecessary expenditure) and to my dad an I-Pod (he thinks it’s funky but isn’t confident enough to use it).
4. Music is my only solution to all problems in life. And to me, music is predominantly Ilaiyaraja’s.
5. I love traveling. Europe, as it always was, is the best resort to holiday.
6. Heels- I hate them yet ogle at them all the time. I promise myself to learn to be comfortable in them and sashay around.
7. It is true that I spend at least two-three hours talking (/chatting) to (/with) Varun everyday and I have never felt bored of it no matter how much we fight. In fact (at the cost of getting mushy) I am looking forward to doing it every day of my life.
8. Corporate law has been my favourite subject ever. I can never get enough of it.
9. I believe I belong to Chennai and I simply love the place for more reasons than one.
10. Predictably, thayir sadam (curd rice) with vadaam (namkeen, sort of), maangai thokku (cut-mango pickle) and vazhakka fry (raw banana fry) is my favourite followed by crispy dosai with tangy thakkali-vengayam chutney (tomato-onion chutney) and molaga podi (sundried red-chilly powder) followed by chilly-cheese toast with tomato sauce.
11. I am crazy about stationery of all kinds- pens, pencils, highlighters, erasers, notepads, tags, etc. I make sure I have them in all colours and sizes.
12. If I had all the strength in the world, I would dance till my last breath.
13. I hate the taste of alcohol, the smell of cigarette and the sound of abuse. Hence, I think I am very lucky!
14. It is a (sad) fact that I put on eight kilos in the first nine months of law school and have maintained it till this day.
15. If I were to be defined in one word, then it has to be energy. I am usually found in really high spirits and I put in a lot of energy even into sleeping.
16. I can’t keep mum. It is scary that I once lost a bet with a friend who challenged me to remain silent for sixty seconds.
17. Ayyo is my only idea of exclaiming- be it in happiness, surprise, shock, disgust or anger. Only the tone and pitch differ.
18. I think I have a big capsicum for a nose which I have inherited from my dad along with the juvenile sense of humour.
19. Someday I hope to build my own kaapi shop (ideally along with Starbucks!) and give, inter alia, kumbakkonam degree kaapi with thattai and murukku in the most sophisticated fashion ever.
20. I love the concept of bathing and explore my creativity while bathing in terms of the products I use and the procedures involved.
21. My mom once told me I behave like I was born in rakshasha ganam (literally, the time of demons) and I told her (proudly) that it is called so because I was born at that time. That was the day when she totally gave up on me.
22. I have a very wide scale of endurance ranging from highly irritable to highly patient. The scale changes according to the person, the person’s behavior towards me or others and the circumstances.
23. If there is one thing I can’t get myself to do, it is waking up on my own. I need somebody to wake me up every morning regardless of the time.
24. I love the A/C. I don’t care however elitist that makes me sound but I repeat I love the A/C.
25. There is something I admire about myself- the ability to help people in spite of something ugly that could have happened between us.
26. I can’t believe I can keep writing things about myself. Truly a narcissist. And a talkative person.

Ok, I stop.

Its that time of the trimester again!

Four exams. Numerous slides (I haven't bothered counting). Around 300 pages of Priyasha on different subjects (Thank god for her!!). And abominable abdominal cramps. Six whole days to catch Chennai Mail and escape to home. It is funny how I crave for a million things at this point like my mom's vathhal kozhambu rice with ghee and applam (which I used to complain about a few years back!), my grandmom's manga pachhadi and my chithhi's aloo parathas (I have had it only once and I fell in love with it).

Then I want to hop on to my TVS-Excel and roam around aimlessly in K.K.Nagar with Vidhya and go to my terrace just to gaze at the stars.

I want to chat with my mama (knowing it will end in a huge argument with eventually one of us storming out of the room) and I want to read Kungumam for ugly news about Tamil films and politics.

I want to lay on the oonjal in paati house and swing by listening to my grandmom chant vishnu sahasranamam or sudharshanashtakam- this restores all my peace and energy even though I am not one bit spiritual or god-fearing.

I also want to go to my dance class just to listen to Ambika Akka sing and talk to us in the sweetest voice ever and then have lime tea with Poorna, Sandhya, Nithya, Janani, Swapna and GK- not to forget Bharati aunty teasing me about how much I talk.

I want to have a long telephone conversation with Gow, Aishu and Sindu- update them about these four years and renew the almost-lost friendship.

I want to have a proper chat/conversation with dad and mom about what I want to do with my life (more like ask them what I should be doing with it) over a nice three course meal on a not-so-sunny Sunday afternoon.

And then, knowing it is not going to happen for the next four months, I badly want to go around Chennai with Varun the usual way- go shopping in Kalpastree, City Center, Spencer's (have a fight in each of these places) and have a nice lunch at Copper Chimney (with Varun's favourite cream of tomato soup and my favourite sauteed tandoori gobi) and end it with my hazelnut frappe and his dark tempation (amazing chocolate cake served with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream) at Barista.

I WANT THEM ALL NOW. NOW NOW NOW! :(

From P.S.I Love You:

"...there were happy days when she would around in a daydream with nothing but a smile on her face, catching herself giggling as she walked down the street when a joke of theirs would suddenly pop into her head..."

this describes my life in short. :)

Merrily Merrily!

An awesome awesome awesome day!

My best friend's birthday today, opened with the good news that she is now just visa-short of going to the US (NY, baby!) to join a fully sponsored Masters course in Animation! This is something she has been reaching after for a long while and all her work paid off! Hats off, Vids!

BJP lost. Thankfully, I don't have to change my wardrobe to only salwar kameezes and we can now think about living in a much less dangerous/hostile environment. Also we would now be living in a more constitutionally valid atmosphere and a more secular India. I am not really bothered about the rest- whether Congress won or Vijaykanth did!

Also hooray!! CSK won the match against Mumbai. What a close one! Hayden is my new super star! They are in the semis (unofficially but who cares!)! I was so happy to see Malinga's expression in the end. ****wicked slimy grin****

All said, it was a brilliant day. And I loved it! :)

P.S. Somebody please start suspecting Malinga's bowling or rather throwing! He throws the ball here and there and everywhere. Who calls that bowling, dude?!

P.P.S. I am craving for lasagna (its been donkey's years!)! So Monday shall be the lasagna day.

Chennai Super Kings-ku Whistle Podu, Machi!

WOW! What a come-back! Hayden-ku kovil kattalam! I almost lost interest in this season’s IPL when they were thrashed by the Deccan Chargers. Latcho and I were steaming when we saw Gilchrist and Gibbs fly every ball outside the boundary! But I guess that was just the calm before the storm. The subsequent matches against Rajasthan (twice), Punjab, Delhi and Deccan were a treat to watch. It’s not only about winning and marching up to the top of the table from sixth or seventh position. It’s about their attitude about the winning and losing(Yuvi, you got to learn something from us da!). Dhoni, for his experience, pitchu odharran and Hayden, for what he has accomplished in life, is almost deivam. Badri is finally getting the attention he deserves and Raina has been one hell of a thala throughout the season. I went all awww when Badri said “I owe it to Hayden”! Enna batting, enna bowling. Morkel, Balaji and Jakati wickets thookradha paakanume! I know they suck at fielding but that’s just one little little problem and with their attitude, they can be all Jonty Rhodes anytime they want! Idhula too-cute matter enna na, the not-so-skimpily-clad cheerleaders and Sivamani’s drumming! Thaaru-maaru! Truly Chennai! No matter where we go, adhe spirit! Also Hayden is planning to settle down in Chennai (another awwwww!). If he does stay back, I am so going to meet him!! CSK, they rock!! With great style and attitude, they are roaring it out! And I am loving it totally! Thanks machi, for all the entertainment and pride you brought us! CSK-ku, truly, oru periya whistle podu!

p.s. I really wish IPL would happen in India next year. I really really do. Room-lendhu whistle podradhu vendam. Stadium-ku poi oru ragala pannanum!

The Buffalo Attack!

After a long walk along the traffic-struck lanes of Nagarbhavi, Chandra Layout and Vijaynagara and dinner at Amrutha Tiffin (which serves the most amazing ragi dosa),Shruti, Tuhina and I were walking towards campus. At Juice Junction, I caught the infamous LLM couple and couldn't stop staring at them. There were a million things running in my mind about the couple: Is he the potato-guy or is he the other one?; Is this girl serious or just fooling around?; Do they do shady things on campus? and the likes. At the end of a five minute long stare, I suddenly turned to see a beastly-buffalo with two sharp horns and one big face inclining itself towards me. Trust me, IT WAS SCARY!

For a couple of seconds, I was too shocked for words!!! I had to escape the buffalo before it starts charging towards me and I couldn't afford to piss off the buffalo after blocking its way. I quickly devised my escape-strategy. Not wasting too much time, I smoothly and wisely slipped the way without attracting anymore of its attention. The buffalo then walked away...and that's how I saved my life. I did handle the situation very well. Without getting too emotional or expressing my fear, I dodged my way through that beast! It was a near-death experience. Here I am writing about it in almost what I would like to call as a rebirth.c

P.S. Do not trust Shruti's or Tuhina's version. They dilute the importance and make it sound like buffaloes are nothing scary!

April 19, 2009

the biting-your-teeth-hard phase.

Just three more days and I am going to be done with these haunting exams. I have been thinking about a lot of things to do after this and a dinner at the Couch tops it. Also want to try the Ferrero Rocher cake Shruti has been talking about. Cleaning up my room. Stock up the fridge. Shop for summer clothes and visit the New You shop. And a little beautifying. Aaah! I can't wait to get there.

Fourth year with all this.

Leaving PSBB was like a bad break-up. Took me months to get over it. And to top it, joining NLS was an awful follow on. Almost four years have passed and things have changed a lot with me. A lot. Some of it for my good and some for the bad. I have become very arrogant but the good part is I am not as stupid as I used to be. One more good thing is that I can now talk about anything with confidence and it wouldn't matter to me if I am making sense or not. Yeah of course, you can call that over-confidence. Nothing takes me over these days. Nothing scares me. Nothing threatens me. I have become ultra-flippant. Almost fifty papers and fifty presentations, five internships, countless exams, one lousy CGPA and a CV that would fetch me no job- all look petty now. I don't know if that is any good sign. I don't care about anything. I don't even know if I mean anything when I say I have an ambition. I mean I do have plans like I want to earn a bunch, travel a lot, pursue dance religiously, get my parents everything they sacrificed to bring me up and buy a beach house on the East Coast Road but I am not doing anything towards realizing them. One day I tell myself I must pursue higher studies in UK and the next day I want to join IIM. And a few days later, I want to take up bharathanatyam. I have even wanted to write the Civil Services and just be a house-wife on the very same day. I swing my ambitions like how Javagal Srinath used to bat! At least he did it with only his right hand, leaving his left hand to defend his skull. But I am afloat and have my hands full of things that don't match! Wait. Look at the way I am talking about my ambitions. Once again, I am very impressed with myself. I repeat I don't care about anything and I am living up to it. I think I am going to be this for the next eleven months. And then when I am finally thrown out of this place, I will get back to this post with an update that I hope to be something positive.

I hate that chick!

If there is one thing I can't stand, its hypocrisy. There is a certain missy I know who knows nothing but being hypocritical. Its like this: I love flirting with men but for the world I am this innocent-little-girl who can not be not loved. Flirts her way through things. Flirts to get compliments, flirts to get information, flirts to put up a very fake image of herself and flirts with a certain guy and his friend as well. If you want to flirt, be the slut. Don't flirt circuitously. I don't mind sluts but I really have a problem with chicks who would bleed to flirt yet pretend like there is no innocence beyond them.

Argh. Get away. To me, you still are the flirt. The flirt who leaves none. Lady, please flirt. Flirt. Flirt. Flirt. But don't act like you are six and I am teaching you things. And you are NOT cute. You are just dirty. And hollow. Save your mushy talks for a rainy day when it's raining men!

March 5, 2009

All did Harper's Bazaar.

STUPID ME. STUPID STUPID ME!

This moment. I have to record this moment as one of the most awfully embarrassing moments in my life. At the cost of sounding extremely dramatic, I repeat- it was MORTIFYING. I had kept my magazine (one of those glossy fashion ones, you know) on my dinner table before I went out and forgot to get it back!Again: Stupid ME! When I got back, I saw my grandmother (who is willingly orthodox and happily conservative in terms of a typical iyer mami) flipping through the pages of the magazine. It was still fine when she exclaimed with raised eyebrows “3750 chappals-ka?”; “1500 lipstick-ku?” and “enna dress pottundrukka indha ponnu?” But the embarrassment was to its peak when she saw the caption “Dresses to Seduce Your Man”(!) with the elaborate details in pictures and illustrations. I expected her to react with a big scream saying “Krithi! Nee ipdi patta ponnu-nu nan ninakala” or “Enna di aachhu unakku?” and prepared a big speech to justify it in lines of “Illa Ajji, Nan andha pakkam-ellam padikka maaten” or “Ayyo! Andha book ennoda friends-odadhu!”. But much to my tough luck, my grandmom chose the sentimental-attack-path and said “Enna ma, enakku theriyum nee Bangalore-la periya padippu padikara… aana naan idha edhirpakala. Namma tamil kalacharam paarthu nadandhukko. Avalvu dhan solradhukku irukku.” With those words, she walked away to the kitchen with a completely disappointed I-cant-believe-my-krithi-has-turned-into-this-big-city-chick-or-monster look.

And the entire incident had only one effect on me. I ate one dosa less to show my grandmom I really regretted the incident. :( :(

February 11, 2009

Listening in.

While I was at Hotel Kamat (Colaba Causeway, Mumbai) for an early dinner, I heard a girl say “You want to try dosa? Dosa is what the South of India eats and that’s the only thing they ever eat. It is a pancake sort of thing that is made of oil and rice batter.” Apparently she got them there to show them the different Indian cuisines. She, I am presuming, has got her two American friends home for the holiday and when she said this, I was about to get up and clarify a few things but chose not to. It is stupid to try and wake people who are acting asleep, isn’t it? This is exactly why I got back to my cheese dosa promptly without letting a whole, what I wouldn’t have intended to do, argument happen. Instead, thinking about a hundred varieties I can name of our cuisine, I softly thanked all heavens for not letting so many of Mami’s (whether she is an Iyer or a Chettiar) recipes crawl into these menu-ed kitchens.

P.S: This was not to offend anyone if at all it is capable of any such understanding!

P.P.S. Try and eat like there is no south or north. It feels a lot better.

February 6, 2009

Observation.

On the first day of work, I wore a full-sleeved ruby-red formal shirt with black trousers hoping to escape the monotonous black-n-white combination. But my boss, who happens to be the daughter of her boss, brushed me down. Apparently the vision-safe hue of red with ironed black trousers, to quote her, pissed her off. Fine. I have been dressing in whites, blacks, grays and sober blues since then. Today, being the fifth day (and not a Saturday when we can dress in, to quote her again, smart casuals), I see her dressed in cotton-candy-pink patiala suit with embroidered work in purple and yellow all over. Boss, are you amnesic? Or do you belong to a school of thought that prescribes non-uniformity in application of rules? Or may be, this is what they call humour in uniform, literally!

(giggles and gets back to the Securities Contract (Regulation) Act like nothing pink or red happened!)

February 5, 2009

Pshaw!

I don’t know what’s going on but I clearly don’t deserve this. Damn. I need a break from this. I need a goddamn break from the system and the constant biAs one could associate with it. A certain bulky doggie bag of wasted flesh decided to get back. Why? Is it because I wasn't worth it? NO. Or is it because I did something wrong? NO. It is because that silly schmuck doesn’t have the ability to see the difference between two independent events- one being this and the other being the proceedings of an enquiry on the basis of a complaint from me. For heaven sake, just because I argued with you about something your senses couldn’t reach. Just because I pointed out the fact that you fiddled with my right and thereby deprived me of something I was, as a matter of merit and morality, entitled to. And just because you can’t understand the concept of rationality. I just have two words for you- get lost! All the while, I only thought you didn’t know how to pronounce the words genuine and empathy. But boy! You have no clue about what they mean.
